As we enter the holiday season, many of us reflect on our accomplishments and look forward to the promise of a new year. This year had its challenges and triumphs, and when my patient John sent me a text that he was back to skiing double black diamonds, I couldn’t help but feel gratitude.
As an Orthopedic Spine Surgeon at Sharp Grossmont Hospital, I have the privilege of providing life-changing treatments to my patients through advanced medical technologies and equipment. When I first met John he had numbness and tingling in his arm, neck, and shoulder which affected his ability to do the things he loves, like skiing and barefoot waterskiing.

In December 2022, we performed innovative spine reconstruction with a disc replacement, a procedure that swiftly restored John’s mobility and quality of life.
