Biography

Dr. Evan Nigh is a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon dedicated to helping patients overcome spinal challenges and reclaim their active lifestyles. He specializes in treating a broad range of conditions, including degenerative disorders like spinal stenosis and herniated discs, traumatic injuries, deformities such as scoliosis, and complex issues requiring revision surgery. Dr. Nigh offers advanced treatments, including minimally invasive and endoscopic procedures, artificial disc replacements, and motion-preserving techniques, designed to speed recovery and maximize function.

Known for his warm demeanor and clear, relatable communication, Dr. Nigh takes a holistic, patient-centered approach that recognizes the remarkable healing potential of the human body, always prioritizing non-operative treatment first. He listens attentively to each patient’s unique story, thoroughly explains all options, and tailors treatment plans to align with their goals, favoring the least invasive solutions whenever possible. After graduating with honors from Claremont McKenna College, Dr. Nigh earned his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He returned to California to complete his orthopedic surgery residency training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Following residency, he completed a comprehensive spine surgery fellowship at the University of Maryland/Shock Trauma Center, a leading institution for trauma and complex spinal disorders.

Dr. Nigh’s expertise is complemented by his contributions to spine care research, with numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on minimally invasive techniques and spinal navigation. His work has been presented at multiple national meetings, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the North American Spine Society.
